New Shooters

New shooters are always welcome. First year shooters are allowed to use firearms that deviate from the rules as long as they meet the caliber restrictions of the sport. For example, if you have a couple of double action revolvers, a lever action or pump rifle in .22 or other pistol caliber and a pump shotgun, you are welcome to shoot the Cowboy Action matches. All ammunition must be only lead – no jacketed bullets.

Guns Used In Shooting SASS/Cowboy

This group shoots single action revolvers, 1897 Winchester pump or side by side double shotguns and lever action rifles chambered in revolver calibers. All firearms are of the type used before 1900 or modern replicas thereof. You will shoot six different stages, each designed to challenge the shooters.
